I just learned that Willie P. Bennett died on Friday.  At home, of natural causes (he'd had a heart attack almost a year ago).

That is too bad. He was a great writer and singer.

Funny, I can't picture him as old enough to die of a heart attack.

He was only 56. How sad that he went so soon.

I don't know if this is the appropriate place to write this or not. This is my first "blogging" item of any kind. I heard Kirk and Borealis at Harborfest in Oswego NY in, I believe, 2000. It was unforgettable and endeared me to the music of my Irish heritage. The whole group was outstanding. I was looking for another copy of the CD you all were selling at Harborfest. The best to you all. Thanks for this opportunity.

Well, thanks, but the only reason it's not appropriate is that I only met Kirk once, when I did sound for Borealis at the Ottawa Folk Fest, sadly the day before he died. I have no other connection with him or them, other than as a person who liked their music.
